user-friendly IT (policy)
I personally and logically believe that the public sector IT policy in general, the ECDoE IT policy (or the lack thereof) in particular should strive to ensure that the Provincial ICT Strategy objectives are realised. The stance that e-mail addresses may not created for interns should be reviewed. Some offices, like the Director of Facilities and Infrastructure Management, in which I am currently stationed, does not have a secretary. This means that solely because it is manned by us interns, the Microsoft Outlook facility will never be accesible. How are we really going to serve the public to the best of our ability. a mandate that has been given to us by ECDoE and the public is to serve the people. why should we continue to be made to live in the Stone Ages whilst in reality it is the 21st century-An Information Age and indeed an Electronic Age? No, interns cannot do this, interns may not do that. Interns cannot apply for internet activation. What is this Department understanding, perception and conceptualisation of the Internship phenomenon?
