• Member of the Executive Council for Eastern Cape Education Department since 01 August 2008.
• Member of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature since 1999.

Academic Qualifications

• Matriculated from St John’s College in Mthatha.
• Bachelor of Science from Walter Sisulu University (previously, University of Transkei).
• Diploma in Education from the Walter Sisulu University.
• Advanced Project Management from University of South Africa.
• B.Phil in Maritime Studies from University of Stellenbosch.
• Currently studying towards a Masters in Public Administration with the University of Fort Hare.

• After Unitra, taught Maths and Science for a number of years at Mpeko Senior Secondary School in Mthatha.
• Member of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature since 1999.
• Chairperson of Education Portfolio Committee (2005 -2008).
• Chairperson of Portfolio Committee for Health (2001 – 2004)
• Member of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA)
• Served on the Portfolio Committee on Finance.
