Kwa-Dungu Village gets modern school

The Eastern Cape Department of Education (ECDoE) in collaboration with the South African Foundation for Economic and Financial Education (SAFEFE) came up with the questions presented to the learners competing at the East London Leadership Institute on the 20 June.

This is the 5th consecutive year that the competition has been held. Six learners from each district came to compete. The competition is divided into three sections – the first section, learners discuss and write the answers down on their answer sheet, the second part learners read the question and then hold up a sign either ABC or D, and the third part they read the question and hold up either true or false.

ECDoE presents certificates to quiz participants

Teachers, Subject Advisors and Government Officials were there to give the learners support. In great anticipation twice, the officials had to break ties by means of asking the learners more questions.

Very anxiously learners waited to hear the results of the days quiz. Third place goes to...Fort Beaufort District, with cheers of joy and happiness, second place was announced...Grahamstown District. With screams of excitement and clapping coming from every one, with great eagerness Uitenhage District was announced as the winners of this year’s quiz competition.

Learners received certificates and trophies to take back to their schools. The two schools who won from the Uitenhage District were Rebeek College and Muir College. Well done to a great achievement.
