The Eastern Cape Department of Education MEC, the honourable Mandla Makhuphula invites all members of the media to the announcement of the 2010 Provincial Senior Certificate Results to be held at the Education Leadership Institute in East London on 06 January 2011 at 09H00.
During this event the MEC would outline the departmental programme which will be followed to ensure that all schools needing “urgent situation" are equipped with necessary tools for teaching and learning, while “academic achievers” will be capped in the same day in a gala dinner scheduled to honour them following the official release of the results. The ceremony for top achievers would be held at the International Convention Centre, Esplanade, East London at 18h00 at the same day (January 6, 2011).
The MEC would also announce the date for the registration of the candidates who will be writing their supplementary examinations in 2011. The department hopes for improvements in the last year’s 51% pass rate in academic progress and achievements.

2010 Matric Results will be available on the ECDoE website on 06 January 2011 at 6:00 am. Learners can check the results by entering/typing their respective exam numbers on the following URL: www.ecdoe.gov.za/matric-results into the field provided and then click the "submit" button.
