Although there were no irregularities reported, in the Ngcobo district 28 learners had to write in district office premises as the Clarkebury Senior Secondary school encountered electricity blackouts during the morning session. Apart from that incident, all schools in the 23 districts of the Eastern Cape province did not encounter any major problems.
The department has well tested measures in place to prevent the leakages of question papers and these measures have been strengthened in the security cluster and each and every year there are new strategies to eliminate any new problems that may have emerged in the previous year.
