In an attempt to construct a positive moral fibre to the youth, about 350 learners from all the 23 districts of the Eastern Cape department of education will tomorrow, 3rd of September assemble at the Schornville Community Hall in King Williams Town at 10H00 (am) to participate in the ‘Provincial Youth Dialogue’ programme.
This provincial dialogue is the culmination of a series of regional youth dialogues that have been hosted by the provincial government throughout the province; hence all districts will be represented. Additionally, participating schools have been given topics which they will present on the day and these range from:
* Teenage pregnancy;
* Drug abuse
*Sexual abuse;
* Bullying; and
* Equity
The dialogue is an attempt by the department to better lives of all citizens, that's why a focus has to be on empowering the youth through allowing them to participate in it. Additionally, this programme complements the Peace Clubs in schools, an initiative aimed at improving the positive contribution to the reduction of crime and violence at school and ultimately to communities. This
discourse will also act as a platform for young people to share their experiences as well as plot possible lasting solutions for youth by themselves.
