October 13, has been earmarked by the Eastern Cape education department in its calendar for the official opening of one of the province’s schools of excellence, Gcinubuzwe Senior Secondary in Lady Frere. The event is scheduled to start at 10H00 on 13 October 2010.

The new structure to be opened consists of 7 new classrooms, a recreational hall, science laboratory, a full equipped computer laboratory, an administration block (with the principal’s office, staff room, clerk’s office and a full equipped sick bay).

Despite the fact that the school was established in 1977, to date it still boasts 370 learners with 13 teachers and offers commercial subjects like
tourism. The department prides itself with these schools (schools of excellence) as they set the trend in every aspect of education.

Members of the media fraternity are cordially invited to witness the progress made by the department in ensuring that teaching and learning conditions in
