Assumption of New Positions for Redeployed Teachers
Article by Loyiso Pulumani
By the end of last week, over 1000 assumption of duty letters had been sent out to qualifying temporal teachers throughout the province, thereby living up to the promise of ensuring that teachers are made available to make
sure that learning and teaching is not compromised by tardiness resulting from the uneven implementation of Post Provision.
The Department has also sent out a stern message to all teachers found to be in excess in their schools because of the 2012 post declaration, to immediately report to their new posts as indicated in the re-assignment correspondence sent out by the district offices.
The Department is giving the teachers 10 days to comply with their re-assignment, otherwise they will be regarded as displaced, and the Department will be left with no option but to withdraw the method of direct bank deposit of their salaries, instead it will consider issuing bank-guaranteed cheques at the legitimate point of service (the schools where they have been reassigned to), to affirm that indeed movement has been achieved as required by regulation.
In conclusion, the Department wishes to issue out a strong warning to anyone who interferes with legitimate departmental processes, that they will be countered with the full wrath of the law.

I really dont know what is happening in Eastern Cape, DoE. We did our Bed's, but we are unemployed, but there teachers who are in schools without any relevant course in education. Again easter cape always be the last in matric results, i promise even this will be the last bcoz in other schools like Nngwenze SSS, there is no teacher for maths, maths lit & agriculture. According to the rule, the school (SGB) is not allowed to employ a teacher. Do u think eastern cape can no longer be "UMNKANJA"?

Can you please speed up the debate around early retirement (55 years) so as to give a space for the highly qualified Temporal educators as well as to reduce the debates around excess teachers. Our minister (political head) must stand his ground not the HOD.

The department is spending a lot of money taking us to universities to study for a teaching course yet they fail to employ us when we complete our qualifications.I think its about high time they tell us what is going on and when are they going to employ us before we start consider going to other fields
