Nedbank foundation donates school uniforms to 9 schools

The Eastern Cape Department of Education (ECDoE) in partnership with the Nedbank foundation launched the first leg of the Nedbank Back-to-School campaign on Friday, 2 March 2012 at De Vos Malan School in King William’s Town, where 9 schools benefited, with 200 learners receiving school uniforms, shoes and stationery.

In honouring Nelson Mandela day on 18 July 2011, the Eastern Cape Department of Education School Nutrition Programme (SNP) Directorate sacrificed 67 minutes to Jongilanga High School in East London District, donating a kitchen.

South African‘s electricity public utility giant, Eskom, in collaboration with the Eastern Cape Education Department and the community of Phungulelweni village gathered in their newly built and nearly complete school recently to honour those involved in the rebuilding process of Phungulelweni Senior Primary School.

Fifty underprivileged learners amongst them orphaned learners as well from Xolani Senior Secondary School were presented with brand new schooling gear during a surprise visit by an education official at the school this morning.

It was screams of elation and ululation all round at Mdantsane’s Vukuhambe School for the disabled when the Airport Company of South Africa management visited to donate much needed wheelchairs for use by disabled learners.
