Boost for matrics’ exam preparations

The Department will embark on a very critical initiative to deal with the root cause of poor learner performance in literacy and numeracy; the project is called Mother Tongue-Based Bilingual Education, dedicated personnel are now in place to drive that project. Preparations are currently being made to ensure full-scale implementation of this initiative in January 2011. Part of the work that is currently underway includes the review and development of language policies.
