South Africa's spending on education continues to grow with Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan yesterday announcing an allocation of R207 billion to the sector with projections that this may rise to up to R236 billion over the next three years.

South African‘s electricity public utility giant, Eskom, in collaboration with the Eastern Cape Education Department and the community of Phungulelweni village gathered in their newly built and nearly complete school recently to honour those involved in the rebuilding process of Phungulelweni Senior Primary School.

Excellent governance and efficient running has earned Jatyana primary school in Tyutyu Village outside King William's Town a surprise visit by the national department of Basic Education’s Deputy Director General of Social Responsibility and Auxiliary Services Branch, Gugu Ndebele as part of her National Nutrition (SNP) Week programme which started on the 9th -14th of October this year.
