Purpose: To render education services and monitor operations in all institutions.

Functions:

• Manage the implementation of all policies regarding education services delivery to all institutions
• Ensure fully functional institutions within the province, including public ordinary and independent, as well as FET Colleges
• Oversee the provisioning and procurement of all education resources to all institutions
• The rendering of Inclusive Education, HIV/AIDS Programmes, School Nutrition and Poverty Alleviation and all education Social Support programmes to schools
• Provide support and management of districts in order to ensure functional schools
• The rendering of support to SGBs and oversee good governance of all institutions
• The recommendation for the registration and deregistration of ordinary and independent schools to the Directorate: Resources Targeting

District Co-Ordination, monitoring and Support

Purpose: To co-ordinate and support district within a cluster for uniform effective and efficient service delivery

Functions:

• To co-ordinate the implementation of standard/uniform mode of operation for schools and district with the cluster, with regards to delivery of education services
• To co-ordinate the implementation of a standards mode of operation for all districts in terms of human resources services, physical infrastructure, auxiliary services and governance, finance and supply chain management
• To provide a strategic leadership role and mentor managers within the cluster
• To manage the interface between the head office and district office by providing a guiding and support role to district office by ensuring that government priorities are addressed
• Provide strategies to trouble-shoot any problem/challenges arises within cluster
• Report to CD, Institutional development and management on all specialist function matters that need co-ordination with head office directorates
